In Germany in a family with two mothers the mother who hasn’t born the child still needs to go through the process of stepchild-adoption to be recognised as an official parent - even when you’re married and same-sex marriage is supposed to be equal. In July 2020 the process of stepchild-adoption is supposed to be changed and get even more difficult, including an inquiry if you’re eligible as a parent (health, financial situation…).

This is a campaign to the Federal Ministry of Justice to change the law, so that both partners in a married couple are always automatically recognised as parents. Please sign and reblog.
